Fluidampr and crank pulley compatibilty

Hey guys, quick question. I have a chance to buy a very lightly used Fluidampr balancer (28oz.) for $60 and I was curious if I would need any spacers and/or adaptors for the stock crank pulley (4 hole / 3 groove for alternator, PS, water pump, fan, AC) D0OE-6312-C.

My balancer has some cracking around the rubber spacer and with the vibration I've been having, I don't think it would be a bad investment.

Edit: The Fluidampr spec sheet doesn't indicate that I need anything like a spacer or adapter...looks like it might be ok.

 

it should work for you. i dont think fluid dampener needs a spacer.

 

Be aware that some engine builders recommend against using a Fluidamper on a low rpm street engine. They feel the fluid doesn't react quickly enough to the constant rpm changes of a street engine. I've never used one so this isn't from my personal experience.

if it's good enough for multi-million dollar industrial equipment?.. then it's good enough for the junk I usually run.

What motor and what pulley are you running with yours? What spacer did you use?

 

Are our balancers pressed on? Do I need a tool to remove my old one? Any tips/tricks up anyones sleeves that I could use so I don't have to rent a tool? Thanks!

2. Yes. You need to use a balancer puller.
3. I have never removed a balancer without a balancer puller. I have installed a balancer without a balancer installer, though.
