I have a set of '73 Stang disc spindles to use on my '72 Comet GT. Can I also use the other '73 brake parts, such as rotors, calipers, proportionate valve, master cylinder, etc? Jim
The 73 Mustang disc master is the same as the 74 Maverick disc master, just a different length push rod. You should be able to use everything else Mustang. Plus what Pete said.
Thanks. Someone said I would have trouble with the brake lines. Anyone know which ones will work. Jim
You may need some adapters for the master. I used 74 Maverick flex hoses when I converted to discs on my 73 with no issues.
I am aware of that...:Handshake Just most seem to referr to it as a prop valve. As long as were all on the same page on the subject... I see no reason to have to correct people on small things like that.
Actually it's called a COMBINATION VALVE. 1. Fluid distribution 2. Proportioning (Disc Brake) 3. Pressure differential sensing 4. Metering valve
I corrected you because it offers no "proportioning" to the braking system, which is a good idea to have for a front disc/rear drum system, since the rear drums are prone to lock up first as they require less pressure to actuate. So it's no "small thing". It's important.
