thats a gamble. the seller is honest. if the motor is good then its worth it. if its poorly built or bad then its a waste of money. if its a fully built race motor then its a steal.

Not very sure about what he has for sale, but pretty sure about his price?

I would pass on it, because you really don't know what you are getting.

I'm a gambler, I would buy it and cross my fingers. Worst case scenario I'd have to eat 550 and hear about it for the next year from my old lady. (because yea i'd pick up the 5-speed too)

I wouldn't even think twice at 200. I consider myself poor and I wouldn't sweat taking a chance at 200. At least go look at it.
(I am not a voice of Reason. FYI)

200 seems like a deal.. Plus he can have it run for you... And most stock sloppy oil leaking 302s go for close to 200.. I unloaded my last one easily @ $175

If the 5 speed is for a v8 car get it even if you don't want it... I'm looking for a t-5 so there's money to be made. :Handshake

Ummm kinda hard to tell with the open exhaust, sounds like it has a little bit of cam... If it's not making any odd noises and has good oil pressure, at the worst it might need some valve work(if the rump is a miss), but that's easy to determine if you have a vac gauge... A steady reading means all cylinders are at least pumping, a rapidly fluttering needle indicates a very weak cylinder, which is usually bad valve...
