So I'm looking to get my exhaust repaired, I decided to hold off on anything fancy for awhile I just need to get it not falling apart and loud.

I know there are some guys on here that do exhaust, and plenty that have had it done, so hopefully some people can chime in.

I'm just looking for an idea of what a fair price would be before I go out and try to get quotes from the shops near my house this weekend.

I've got true dual exhaust currently, my driver side is basically a full replacement from the stock manifolds back, and my passenger side currently just needs new tips, but probably should be replaced as well.

I've never really planned an exhaust before, and I'm not looking to do anything fancy until I get to the point where I'm putting in a new eninge (years down the road).

    Any guidance appreciated.

I'm thinking I'll have to exit in front of the rear axle to save money. I just need this to get out of the way before I get a ticket or something.

I paid $200 for the installation of a true dual dumping at the axle.

When you say installation, do you mean just installing everything, or did that include the pipes? I know it doesn't include the price of the mufflers.

I paid for the mufflers, and the $200 was for tubing, bending, welding, hanging, and mounting.

I think mufflers were $40 each or so. Maybe $60.

I would bet it would be at least another hundred to route them up over the axles and out the back, because that is a lot of work, and way more tubing.

Mine, 2 1/4" with full tail pipes and an H-pipe (I supplied the mufflers) was $225 installed. Another place 1 mile farther up the road wanted $300 to do the same. You gotta shop around.

Yea there are about 10 muffler shops within a 20 minute drive from my place, I expect to get quotes from at least the 4 closest.

1 good thing about where I live, Pick N Pull and 3 other yards are within walking distance 1 way, the other way has a ton of repair shops. Moving out of the center of the city and into the edges of it was good for more than just my post-recession pocket book.

I wasn't supposed to be on a budget for this stuff... but my kids REALLY enjoyed Disneyland so its worth it.

Show us some pictures, that'll give us some idea of the amount of work needed.

I'll see what I can do about some pics when I get home. Just now leaving work.

But, the left side has a hole just behind the manifold and is really only on the car because I tied all the pieces to the body so they wouldn't fall off (this is recent...) driving down the road. The right side was good when I had it jacked up thinking I could replace the left muffler, but now its broken behind the axle.

When I start the car up in the morning if I have the window rolled down I get an exhaust cloud rolling in the window. Sometimes sitting in traffic on the way home from work I get a little queasy if I don't have the air blowing... since my heater is jammed to hot air, this has to get fixed ASAP lol...

headers or manifolds all the way out the back at our shop typically runs about $650 - $800 depending on what mufflers and pipe size ect. That's definitely on the higher price range compared to many shops but you seriously will get what you pay for. When we're asked to price duals we come right out and say there are shops that will do it cheaper. but dumping just after the axle cuts that price down dramatically.. tail pipe bending takes so much time lol

Yea thats a lot more than I want to pay for an exhaust I expect to replace in 3 or 4 years. Remember too this is without cats.

and I cant get any worthwhile pics with my tablet, no flash, and I think my kids were playing with my digital because its not where it belongs. But I really appreciate the input.

yea, Lake Stevens is just a tad too far, I can do Tacoma on a tank of gas but that would be at least 4.
