Gas tank dimensions...

    Hi All,

    If anyone has a tank out and handy, I'd love to get the width and length dimensions. Not sure, but it may fit into my new Rambler project. The rear frame rails are 30" inside-to-inside and there's about 24" from the tail panel forward to the rear shock mount bracket...

    In the thread above, referring to a tank for a 72 Comet, there is a link to a replacement tank sold by Advance Auto. Look at the specs tab for the product and the sizing is in there.

    65 Mustang tank eyeballs at 22" wide x 30.25" deep...not counting the flange You might be able to bend the flange down to make straps work.

    Thank, Jeff. Hadn't got around to looking at dims yet. There are some SUV tanks that might be a good fit too, it's just a PIA to tray and find dims online. Places like Advance, Autozone, etc you need to select a vehicle before you can actually "search" for anything, which takes a good while to repeat the steps for each different one...
