I went to the shop today where they are working on the Maverick. So far they've centered the rear-end, set the pinion angle, locked in the Cal-Tracs, welded the rear perches and lowering blocks in-place to the housing, installed header extension pipes and Dynomax 3" mufflers and the turn-downs. Moved the EEC, MSD, RPM Window Switch and Start Retard to a drop-down tray underneath the dash on the passenger's side. Rough-alignment on front-end (will take it to have it dialed in later). I'm throwing the old drive shaft away. It has the 1310 Yoke and a very long Transmission Slip Yoke (too much unsupported engagement must've been what caused all the damage I've seen underneath there from the drive shaft coming loose). Next step includes going to a 1350 yoke (reference yoke information here). Going with the Aluminum drive shafts that are on sale in Jegg's Christamas flyer out now. Ordering QA1 shocks tomorrow (p/n STS1578P good for 14" ride height). BTW, in order to use this shock, the QA1 guys recommed their very expensive adapter (from eyelet to stem mounting method). The guy doing the work says the same adapter is found on Fox Bodied Mustangs and can be found at Ford Dealerships for A LOT less than what QA1 sells them for. Next is wiring said electronics, install upper intake, fab the cold-air intake. There's plenty more to do but at least it's getting there.
Woohoo!!! Sounds like I'm going to have to schedule another trip down your way to come see this thing run. Cant wait. Keep the updates coming.
