Smart girl. I'm sure she'll enjoy driving that much more than a mustang. Watch out though cause the guys are gonna be all over that car
Very nice Rick! Congratulations on the find. You have one very smart daughter, Mustangs are a dime a dozen.
That's great I'm sure you felt great when she chose the Maverick. Needs a little work but all things that you can do together. First thing I see is move that fuel pump.
Nice find, Rick! Daytona is my home town. Might even know whom you bought it from. Good luck with it, and enjoy your time working on it with your daughter. Wish my kids were that interested in these little cars. Later,
Here's a better pic...sorry about the microscope pic. Some other things besides the fuel pump are being changed...black headlight bezels for sure and I'm not sure about the wheels being red either. I asked Katie (my daughter) if she had any ideas on what she might like to do to the car. She says; What about making it look like it originally did? I'm thinkin ,thats my girl, and thats what we're gonna do. She's eager to get goin on it...I know she's asked me 3 times since yesterday when are we gonna go get it. My answer never changed...lol Mid January That engine compartment will look like it did when it came off the showroom floor except for a 4 barrel intake and carb hidden under a stock breather. One other thing...is that bumper funky lookin or have I just not seen enough 73's to know?
UH....okaaaaay. Maybe a set of small bumperettes can be used instead..it does make it look different, got a set of sport mirrors for it, its got some headers on it and duals to dynomax's turned down at the axle.
It looks rather unique...its the big bumperettes I can't get past...if they were smaller I think it would look pretty good.
Rick; go to google, search for BumperBoyz. They have the Maverick bumpers, and may have one for the '73 without the bumperette holes. The bumper I bought for my rear, costs me $200 complete...but I picked it up at Moultrie. At least, they might have an option for you. Give it a try. BTW, don't have a location for the lunch/breakfast yet. Will get back to you after the first of the year, and let you know. Later,
My maverick came into the family back in 1992 as my daughters 16th birthday present, she drove all thru school and got a new ranger in 95 to go to college, I inherited it back and still drive it to work a couple days a week.
