not sure what this is

    hi everybody. while trying to chase down an electrical issue im having, im trying to figure out what this does. im used to AMC cars and have never seen this before or have seen one like it. . . anyone know what it is? im having trouble even finding it in the original wiring schematics for the car.

    Could be the emergency override switch for the seatbelt interlock system...since you have a '74. Have you already defeated the evil yellow box under your dash? If so I think you can pull this and stomp it into pieces.

    are you talking about this box under the dash? if so the PO already jumpered it out.

    That's the one (90% sure). Was probably yellow at one point. Mine had this system and that very box went bad while I was driving. It shut me down and I had to coast to the shoulder. Since I'd never owned a '74 it took a loooong time to figure out what was wrong. You should be good to go if someone jumpered the box per the link above.
