Ever see an optional spare tire lock?

The Comet I'm parting out seems to be pretty well loaded with options. One option it has is the Security Lock Group.

This option included a spare tire lock and a locking gas cap. I found the cap in the trunk but it was broke, then today I found the spare tire lock. I've never seen one before.

 

And it also has optional South American tires.

 

I've got one of the spare tire locks.

 

I have a NOS one.

 

My folks 74 Montego they bought new (and which I now own) was ordered by the dealer with the Security Lock Group which included the spare tire lock exactly like yours. It still functions fine. Still use it in fact. The Locking Gas Cap is long gone however. Have never seen a Mav/Comet with one before.
