This is kinda cool. Anybody that has been around a body shop for awhile will have seen this before. Like tree rings, or layers of a jaw breaker, you can see the layers of paint on my grabber hood. I had a couple of deep scratches that I needed to get sanded out, and went to work on them with a little 400 grit. No wonder my hood is rust free! Looks like 9 layers of primer & paint and the original Ford black panel primer/sealer, before I hit bare metal. Looks like the original color was dark blue, with 2 repaints blue, and the last color was red.
My car, sadly, is not a "real" grabber, but a standard 72 2door. The hood was added by the previous owner. The rest of my car is a solid 1 repaint old "grandma's" car.
