Hey guys, I'm looking into replacing my hot air choke tubing with either new tubing or possibly an electric choke. I've found the tubing kits but having some difficulty finding an electric choke kit that would work on my Autolite 2100. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
Dave, I see where the article discusses the conversion, but I don't see any pictures or the part #. From the catalog page for a Carburetor thermostat for a '71 Ford 302, it references just a single barrel 1100 cap that isn't electric. Am I missing it?
Ok, the best I've come up with so far are these: http://www.jegs.com/i/Holley/510/45-258/10002/-1 http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ac...-25um?itemIdentifier=54500&_requestid=4449631 Do you think either of these will work? Just a ground and 12V switch wiring? Does the vacuum being pulled inside the choke keep these cool enough?
Email the guys that have the page, for the link I put up. They sell parts, and I'm sure they'd tell you exactly what you need.
For anyone interested, I ordered the Holley #45-258 electric choke cap and it works very well. I did have to shorten the tabs that retain the thermistic spring since they were about 2mm too long and wanted to rub the new caps heating element. Easy work though. Also, here is where I ordered the part since it's pretty cheap there compared to the part stores around town. http://www.allcarbs.com/detail.php?pid=99
