Very interesting Stefan...sure would like to see a build /spec sheet on the 289 GT40...
too bad they didn't do that in North America.

Looks like a factory Comet GT to me ...

From all outward appearances yes, a Comet GT...but on the inside, anything but.
350 horses and setup to handle European roads and highways speaks volumes about the car.

Thanks Stefan, that was quite interesting indeed. I did not know that a Shelby Europa even existed.

    Sam :)

That's awesome. I e-mailed the guy who owns the webpage to see if
he could give me anymore info.

Note that there is no antenna on that fender. Perhaps
it is a radio delete car, possibly there could be other
factory prep for it to become a modifed vehicle.

Wolfgang responded to my request. He is willing to allow the club to post
pictures in the club newsletter. I have forwarded his response to those
in charge for review and decision.
Perhaps he will be sending some juicy detailed pics that aren't on his website. So, to see them, you had better toss up that $20 to our membership director because he doesn't want them published on the webpage. He had to pay to get
them so they are his photos, and are seemingly rare as this was a 1 of 1 car.

    Stay tuned girls and boys.

If this car is black it would have came from the factory in the US with a silver stripe. although the black stripe does look good. I might consider this for my GT clone. It has this style wheels also has a Maverick Grabber spoiler. It will not have the chrome wheel lip mouldings. It will have chrome Shelby snakes on the lower front fenders. Also has a snake centered above the rear package tray. will also have the hood black out and hood pins. Rear tail light panel satin black. If I remember correctly the 71 and 72 black cars only came with silver stripes. Black cars in 73 had silver or gold stripes. As you can tell my car will be modified not stock.

    Ronald....

I too have never seen black stripes on a black car.
I have seen a black '73 with white stripes and interior.
