I had my dual exhaust put on the 4 door the other day with some flowmasters. I got a call from my buddy at the shop while they were putting it on. They got to the tailpipes and their pipebender blew a seal.:slap: They had finished to the mufflers already and put some dumps on it for the time being. It is so loud reflecting off the ground I can barely stand it. I had to shut my car off at the drive-thru the other day cuz they couldn't hear me over the car. I like the power increase though.(y)

They are supposed to get the bender fixed but who knows how long that will take. I will just have to wait and run around town like a "rebel".;)

I feel bad for you and for the shop. Now they can't do any business untill it's fixed. We have two benders here, so if one goes down, we'll survive. If they both quit, I'd lock the doors and go home.

The shop normally does car audio and accessories and some performance parts, so they only do a handful of cars a week that require the bender. I used to manage their installation department so they were glad to help me out for cheap so I can't really complain too much. Just a little friendly razzing.:D

    Just keeps getting better......

If it weren't for bad luck...
Went to put my heater core in the 4door. today. Low and behold I got it all torn down and went to put it the new one. Surprise!!! It was the wrong one. This is my daily driver and I use it to take my kids to school each morning. I ordered one at the parts store, should be in, in a day or two. It sure is cold in the mornings.Brrrrrrrrrrr.:(

BigBully- how hard is it to change that thing? I just disconnected mine and bypassed it. I heard it was a @%#!$ to change, so I keep putting it off. By the way- how is your other car coming? Just curious. Keep us updated!!! Good Luck, and sorry about the wrong part. Preston

I am not sore at all Craig. The outlets were narrower on the core you gave me and it wouldn't fit through the firewall, though it fit in the housing. Thats the way old cars are, heck If things went too smooth I would have to step back and make sure I was still me.:D

I did have the old heater core out in less than an hour. Didn't think it was too hard at all. I didn't even have to take off the A/C lines. Getting it back in may take a little longer but I have to wait for the new core that I ordered today. Should be here tomorrow and I will put it in this weekend. Probably another hour or 2 to put it back in?

Country, I had to put my Pro-street project on hold. I had changed jobs earlier this year and lost my place to work on it. So it is sitting under a tarp and car cover in buddy's storage lot right now. I hope to bring it home after I get the four doors body work and paint done this winter and/or early spring....I hope. Thanks for asking I appreciate that. :)

    Heat!

Finished the heater core yesterday. Not too bad. It took about a total of around 3-3.5 hrs. If I had done one in a Mav before I don't think it would take that long. Its not the nightmare a lot of people make it out to be. Not that I would want to do it again any time soon, its a little cramped and I can see potential for a lot of frustrations.

    A/c

No Craig, I put the belt on but no dice. Me thinks there is a leak in the system. My father in law is a licensed AC guy and said he will check it for leaks sometime. I hate to put in refridgerant and have it all leak out again over winter.

Is there anyway you can semi-seal the potential leak paths? Isn't moisture in the system the killer of a/c components?

Just hate to hear that it being left un-protected caused much more damage come Spring time.

Rick, I am not sure about any sealants but moisture seems to be a logical threat to AC components. I will have to run that by my father in law but the AC in my car has probably been inop for some time. It won't be driven this winter and will be stored in a garage so hopefully moisture won't be a concern. I hope...

Hey 73, It's still half done, the shop seems to think their bender is not a priority. It is 2.25 so far though.
