Does anyone know if leaf springs from a 65 Mustang has the same dimentions as a Maverick spring? From a search here i think the bushings are different but just need to know if they measure out the same. (Front eye to center pin and center pin to rear eye) Thanks Derek.
I checked them out a couple years ago. They won't fit, the stack bolt is way to far back. I did however use my Maverick main leaf and the Mustang secondary leaves. This puts the second leaf up under the front eye then I added a couple sheetmetal clamps. Works pretty good for drag racing.
General Springs states: 1964-66 Mustang Spring Capacity = 650 Spring Rate = 85 # Leaves = 4 Measures (A/B) = 22 x 31 Width = 2-1/2" Includes Front Eye Bushing Rear Eye and Frame uses bushing HB405 (2 required per eye) or FS-769 Shackle Kit (1 per side) 1970-77 Maverick Spring Capacity = 807 lbs Spring Rate = 142 Width = 2-1/2 # of Leaves = 4 Measures (A/B) = 23-9/16 x 31-7/16 Pack Thickness = 1-3/16 Front Eye Bushing Included Rear Eye and Frame uses bushing HB387 (2 required per eye) or FS-772 Shackle Kit (1 per side)
Awsome Rusty thats great info. I should have explained myself. I have a 65 stang in the shop and the rear end is about 1.5 rearward and the car had a bunch of work done underneath. But now with the measurements provided it looks like the car has the wrong springs in it.
