Hello all, I am new to the forum and I have a 1971 maverick that I am trying to do an engine swap in. The engine is out of a 1995 5.0 mustang GT. How do I swap this engine? Any instructions or advice? I was told this engine has a VATS. what do I need to do to disable the VATS or make it work for this swap? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
First of all welcome to the board. Not sure about the VATS thing, but you will need Maverick motor mounts, and a front sump oil pan and pump, also Maverick specific headers.

We really need more specifics, which engine is currently installed and what transmission will you be using... I believe VATS is a GM term, Ford calls their anti theft system PATS, which unless you are planning on using the original vehicle computer system is the least of your worries... There are several other things you'll need besides what's already mentioned, I'll guess there's a detailed version in the tech section...
