Got Alex's car tour down and pressure washed this weekend. The front end is tweaked more than I thought. Previous repairs are not gonna cut it. I'd like to replace the left rail, but of course can't find one for the Maverick. Does anyone know how the mustang rails compare?
They were reproduced a while back. Not sure if they are still available. Try http://restorationpartssource.com/store/
Yes....they are reproduced. They are also on ebay. I seem to recall it is only the outer frame piece.
Outer is all I'm finding. So that doesn't really get me to where I want to be. Custom subframe fab may be in my future.
Maverick is Maverick, and Mustang is Mustang, they don't directly interchange..but with a air saw and a mig welder, anything is possible. If the car has been hit, you should get it on a frame machine and get it checked out, before you go too far.
Your going to have to get rails from a donor...Get em with the torque boxes while your at it...Otherwise you will be installing a custom front stub assembly...Art morrison and others make some pretty nice set ups. Then you can eliminate the towers/aprons and stuff what ever engine floats your boat in there. The reproduction parts are the outer face of the rail only...
Try Flea-bay! http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1973-19...Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c2713b2bf&vxp=mtr Oddly enough, you still have to buy the outer piece to make this one 'completely' new. I think 3PG has the outers and torque boxes reproduced.
Thanks for the replies. Seems no one makes the inner or a full rail just the outers. I'm hoping autokrafters website is just down temporarily cause I can't get on it and I just won $100 gift certificate from them.
