I have that same fuse panel for my switched aux accessories mounted under my package shelf. I use it for my gauges '"volt meter", choke, radio and elec fan relay trigger. I mounted a binding post on the heater box so I don't have to cut the thick wire if/when I want to service something, for whatever reason.. I do have it on a 40amp fuse and relay, at present am using only 3 fuses.
It has work well for me so far. I don't have to worry abt tampering w/ the O/E box.

Did the installation today, came out very clean and nice. So I have this one which is my 12V switched ignition accessory panel and I have a constant 12V one as well that I installed. Used a relay and fuse for the 12V switched auxiliary panel.

found a new location on the firewall to relocate the solenoid...much easier to access....

Bryant got me the harness for the speed sensor to attach to my electronic speedometer...

there was more shoddy wiring done for the A/F gauge, cleaned that up too...

I ran wires to all the gauges....the ignition wires will all go together, the grounds and the lighting wires will all go together and attach to a Deutsch connector.

we laid them all out and started cutting the wires to length....

I started by grouping the reds together, those are the ignition wires

this was quite tedious work, not hard but not being able to do it fast made it somewhat frustrating....

I started zip tying everything together to make a somewhat neat harness of wires....

I ended up with 17 wire ends...

The connectors have numbers on them so it's nice being able to correlate each wire with the correct number so when I go to mirror the same thing on the car it will be that much easier...

they are called Deutsch connectors, they are made by various companies, different sizes and colors.

I have all the fuses and relays temporarily mounted in this location until I can figure out the best way to mount them...

this area still needs cleanup but should be ok once I finish up the fire system...

changed out the speed sensor to electric one, bryant tested it and it works...

Just get it done!! I wish I was closer, I'd be helping anyway I could. I think it's awesome, and an awesome race to have a Maverick doing.
