So I've been itching to by a Maverick for the past few months and I finally found what I was looking for. It's a '73 with a factory 302 and it is absolutely beautiful! Thanks so much to Bob (Maverocket) for hooking me up with such a sweet car. I had a great time hanging out with you and messing around under the hood this weekend! I picked the car up in Spokane on Saturday and drove it just around 300 miles home to Seattle today. She purred like a really freakin' big kitten all the way here. One of the coolest things about the trip happened about an hour from home. I was heading up the pass when a trailer with two mid 60's Mustangs on it passed me on the left. It then crossed over and fell back to my right. I noticed that the truck had a logo on the side for a custom muscle car shop. The driver was trying to get my attention and when he did he waved a fan of hundred dollar bills at me, mouthed "I'll buy it!" and motioned for me to pull over at the next stop. I of course waved, smiled and said "NO WAY!". He smiled back and went on his way. I've only had it for a few days but I already absolutely love it! Theres a lot of work to do but I can't wait to get started. -Matt
That is one gorgeous car!!! That truck driver won't be the last one trying to buy it either! Almost every time I go somewhere in my car, someone wants to buy it!
More pictures will be coming soon. A good friend of mine is a photographer and he asked me to come out to his place this evening to take pictures of my new toy. I'll post them when I get them early next week.
