My auto meter electric gauge recommend a 1 AMP fuse in the 12V+ ignition wire. Since I'm gonna have 6 gauges can I run one main 12V+ ignition wire with a 1 AMP fuse and split them out to each gauge or would I have to add up the amperage and get a 6 AMP fuse on the main wire?

Gauges don't draw very much current at all. I'd stick with the 1amp fuse. :)

I wud think it depends on the gauge and length of wire ur fusing. I believe those wire are somewhere arnd 18ga. or thinner. I wud not go much abv 1 amp unless I started having problems blowing them. The best thing to do if in doubt is contact the mfg for recommendations

    my understanding would be...

"auto meter electric gauge recommend a 1 AMP fuse in the 12V+ ignition wire."

No because each individual gauge would then be protected by a 6 amp fuse rather than a 1 amp. So if one of the gauges malfunctions, it would take 6 amps before the circuit is shut down. Dont matter which one.
