My son has been looking for a Mustang project for his first car. Way too many people who think they are Mustang experts. Everyone with a 289 thinks they have a K code. Well I was thrilled to pick up his 77 Maverick today. Really solid car with about 90% original paint on it. Only previous repairs were to the front of the left fender corner of the hood and bit of the core support. Havent come across any rust yet. Gonna let him decide the direction of the build. I'm splitting the cost and providing the skill and space for him. Great learing opportunity for him and I get to pass on some knowledge to him. Ready to learn all I can about his car.
Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the father son project. My son and I are doing the same thing. It's a great way to bond while learning new skills.
and enjoy the project with your son. When my son was younger, I used to have him help me on my projects and then when he started to drive I got to help him with his projects and sometimes I would choose to just give him some direction and let him do the work. Today we are going golfing. We aren't golfers but it is still time well spent.
Welcome - great projects. I have done a 71 Maverick with my son, 1 63 F-100 with another son, a 67 Ranchero with my daughter and an 88 Ranger as well. Try this thread for the bumper swap: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.ph...ht=bumper+swap
