Working on detailing the engine and I am replacing the valve cover with a polished finned alumium one from Inline six. I can't for the life of me figure out what these tabs on two of the valve cover bolts were use for? Any thoughts??? Also two pictures of the engine after painting it in the car.
Those tabs are to be used for the engine wiring harness. As a side note: I, for some reason, thought your car was a V-8.
Those are tabs for holding wire harness/vacuum hoses up so they dont get cooked on the exhaust manifold...
The exhaust manifold is not on the car! I removed it after the third scubbing of the engine to be replaced with the headers from Inline Six. Dual outlet, stainless steel ceramic coated. They are on backorder until the beginning of July. I did receive the Arvinode dual exhaust from them and can't wait to get it all installed ...
DUH! I knew that. I like that header. Just put a 250 into my 70, but I couldn't justify the expense at this time. That's going to look really nice. What mufflers are you going to be going with?
I ordered an Arvinode stainless dual exhaust kit from Classic Inlines. The kit arrived this week and I think it should work out well. Here is a youtube clip of what the exhaust sounds like on a 6cyl Mustang ...
