i have recently put a 91 5.0 efi into my 1972 maverick i am trying to see if there any kits, any suggestions, and just for general help with getting an air intake or something that will fit under the hood and i still be able to hook up my mass air.
That would be my suggestion, and is what I plan to do when I make my next engine swap. It helps that the core support is already slotted for airflow right there.
The only way I can see it working is moving the battery to the trunk, which is what I'm doing, and using the stock airbox or a K&N kit that hooks right up.
spector makes do it your self kits the come with aluminum bends, straights and rubber couplers. that should allow you to accomplish anything you want. another suggestion is to turn the upper intake around so the throttle body faces the drivers side. you would also have to swap the valve covers. it would look different from most of the efi conversions. you could leave the battery where it is. you can cut holes in the radiator support to provide the fresh air or even make a custom ram air box into the radiator support.
