If you put a convertor seal in it, be sure to pull the pump and replace the pump seal/gasket. I've chased that leak before. Had the trans out 3 times. Learned a valuble lesson there.

And why not rebuild it yourself if your going to have it out? Simple trans. Don't be scared of it. Lots of info online if you get lost. Cheap to rebuild.

I had the same issue and it ended up being the dip stick o ring. Squirted tranny fluid all over the bell housing and headers. Never seen so much smoke in my life. This happened on the highway and scared the crap out of me.

I watched the guys at the shop fix mine. I dont know if this is what every other shop would have done, but it only cost me $40 bucks. They put it on a lift with the car on, pressed the gas and fluid squirted all out of the dip stick area. Replaced the o ring and I was back on the road with no leaks and it only took 20 minutes.

I sent you a long PM on how to check for this and other leak areas. Not hard to find, just have to look close.

    All fixed.

Advice, trust your instincts and beware of the lowest quote. I didn’t listen to mine and my wallet paid for it.....
