I plan on attending the event this weekend "June 2 & 3rd". Hopefully can make it both days. The event will be at Lake County, Indiana Fairgrounds, hosted by the Regionalstreeters Car Club. The weather is suppose to be nice and temps in the 70's.
I attended the show Sat. & Sunday and it turned out to be a nice event. Saturday it looked like rain abt 1:30pm and folks started leaving, there where a little over 200 cars on Sat "I was #200". We returned Sunday to what was a beautiful day, sunny and temps in the mid to upper 70's. Sunday the fairgrounds were pretty much full w/ over 400 registered vechicles. I was suprised to see more than one like vechicle; there were two Mav's in the mix - both frm Indiana. I did take some pic's of this beautiful green car and meet the owner "ED". I did not get a pic of the other car, the owner said it was his daily driver. It was satin grey w/ a yellow batman like logo on the door. I have been to Ford specific shows w/ over 700 cars and not seen another like vechicle.
Here are a few more cars. The wagons body is made up of wood through out - even the shift lever. The chassis is steel! The Cyclone GT is one great looking car - Wud love to own that one.
Last group of pix. I am thinkin abt painting my Comet the color of this Stang. 1966 Code T Red in DuPont Chroma 112.
Nice cars!! On the green Maverick, are the wheels body color or is that a reflection of the grass? Either way, its a nice effect.
I believe the wheels are grey spokes w/ polished rims. It was a gorgeous car and I really like the color. I love green - I just don't want to make a total color change on my car. The paint work appeared to be flawless. If I did it wud most likely be something like this car. I think he told us he had it on airbags.
He said he visits the forum. I don't know how often or wheter he post. I asked his permission to place the pix here and he replied: he be honored to have them posted. Maybe he will chime in and give some details on the car - hopefully. It is one of the best lookin Mav's I have seen - vry tastefully done... IMO. I did'nt get a chance to see under the hood - If it looks anything like the exterior - it's a winner. I got to get off this computer and go the garage and do some work on the car while the temps in the upper 60's - not going out there in the upper 80's and above......
