Has any one installed a B&M star shifter on a C-4? I can not get this sucker to adjust. If I set it up in Park it will not go into 1st, if I set it up in 1st it will not lock into park. frustraiting
sounds like your not geting as much travel out of the levers. you need to locate the shifter cable attachment point closer to the pivot point on the lever on the trans. its a trial and error thing at this point. i dont know if you have mutlitple holes on the lever. if you dont you may have to drill a hole. some careful measuring of cable travel and lever swing should show you where you need to attach it.
that's kinda what I was thinking, I'm going to make a 1/2 in wide strip of steel with mutable holes in it at work tomorrow and see if I can get this figured out. so far nothing has gone easy on this little project of ours LOL
so true...but the way you should adjust the shifter would be from park as it it the farthest traveling gear.
The B&M shifter Problem has been fixed. I had to use an ingenious tool called "the wife" So last night I in listed the help of the wife so i would not have to keep crawling back and fourth between the shifter and the trannie. during one of my four letter tyrates I'm having while I'm tying to get one of my fancy linkages I made at work to work I made a commit about 6 clicks in the trannie (P R N D 1 2 =6) when the wife says the shifter has 7 well to make a long story shortish there are 2 park positions on a B&M shifter and you cant force a C-4 into the second one like I have been trying to for 3 freaking days.
Actfually you want to adjust from 1st on the trans and shifter done it this way for years and never had one adjustment issue
that's what i thought i put...no idea why i put park...i'm losing it already...damn. atleast someone caught it, hopefully he wasn't trying park lol, thanks.
