Part Identification help?

    I found this in the trunk of my 75 Comet, can anybody tell me what it is?

    That is a ignition switch. I looks like its shot.

    Ah ok, would make sense. In the trunk I also found an old ignition(? I guess that's what it's called, where you put the key) and the car starts so I guess it was replaced. Thanks!
