I have pulled the driver side seat belt out of my 75 Comet, is there anyway to take the belt out of the coiling mechanism? I feel like I need to just hunt around and find the entire assemble but I jumped the gun and just ordered a replacement belt, and now I'm feeling like that may not work.

I see no way to service it.

Yeap, pretty much decided that now. Going to a junk yard tomorrow to see if they have any Mavericks or Comets that I can pull them out of. Do you know any other vehicle's seat belts that would be compatible?

You will need to find Maverick belts.

What exactly is wrong with yours?

The shoulder portion was cut or it dry rotted out, basically irreparable. It has to pass a state inspection before I can register it.

I unfortunately must also pass Army POV inspections, which the lack of a should strap when it is OEM will fail me every time. So the hunt begins.
