I have a 71 manual steering 6 cylinder car I bought with a 302 and a c6. To make a long story short I installed a c4 and Herman 88400. With that being said I'm posting a picture from under the car someone please tell me how you got long tube headers through the space
Wow! If you turn left, that pitman arm is going to sweep right under that collector. Someone must have seen this problem before
So far I can't find any help on here. I don't see how anyone could run long tube headers. But they all say the do with minimal modification
It's the same old story someone sells you a set of headers thats suppose to fit and they don't I got mine when Hooker Headers said there 6901s would bolt right in ,well they bolted in but you couldn't turn left same pitman arm issues. So I took mine off and cut and welded in a modified primary tube doesn't look all that great but it works . Since then Hooker has dropped Maverick from the list of cars that they will fit., it's the same with carpet for early Mavericks. Someone has said Doug Thorley makes a good headers. Good luck Don
Where in Bama are you located? You could look at mine with the 6901 Hookers, I don't have any pics on this computer. I'm just north of Tuscaloosa and west of Jasper.
Yeah, that would be quite a drive. None of the GA guys are real close to you, either. See if you can get ahold of Craig Selvey here on the board, he should have the install pics of his. You can compare his to yours and see if you have the same headers.
Those don't appear to be long tubes but "Shortys" http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-88400/Application/?query=Make%7cFORD Maybee retitle your post to ask about shorty header fitting.I know a few guys here are running them.I have 88300 long tubes fit like a glove.
