Does anybody have the part # for the n/s switch that mounts on the tranny? I have been looking for the part # since I got my floor shifter but have never been able to find it. Advance doesn't list it, seems like I tried Orielly as well with no luck. I'd kinda like to have reverse lights again.

Hey Matt, are you talking about that half circle one that has the neutral and back up light switch? I think I got one if your interested but I believe you can buy them at any good parts store. I know they used to carry them.

Rock Auto still carries them, http://www.rockauto.com/
In fact, it appears Ford Motorcraft still produces them, the part # is SW1615 to replace original part #E0DZ-7A247A.

That's what I need. I'm still confused though.. I could only find the switch on their site for up through 73, but you could get floor shift through at least 76. And, they list a different part # for 72 & 73. I noticed the SW-1615 that is listed for 71 has an E0 part#, which indicates it's for 80-up vehicles. It also has only one pigtail, does that mean it does not have the reverse light circuit in it? I found part# SW-1148, Ford#D2ZZ-7A247C for the 72 & 73 Mav, which has 2 pigtails on it. Thoughts?

I believe the older ones had 1 pig tail but was still 4 wires. The later went to 2 separate pig tails. Or it could be the other way around. Either way, its should still be the same switch.

...and I can confirm that you definitely will need to drop the valve body in order to install it. Good time to put in a shift kit and a drain plug if you haven't done so already. :)
