I had an old friend call me yesterday that knew I was into Mavericks and offered to sell me one that was at his shop. It's a 75, 302, 3speed, 2 door Maverick that is rough. Both quarters, door bottoms, floorboards and front fenders are rusted out. However, all the trim is in real good shape, the hood looks good and the motor runs. I already have 72 302 parts car but some of the trim is bent on it. My 77 I-6 has good panels and trim so I don't really need this car but these cars are getting hard to find now. Somebody help me out here with some advice please!! Thanks! Scott
Question: "Should I buy a $300 Maverick?" Answer: If you have the money, YES !!! I'd offer him $250 and see if he'll tke it, or even $200...
No...you shouldn't buy it. Instead....immediately email me the phone number for this guy and I will take care of it. He shouldn't harrass you anymore.
Craig what are you doing bidding on that V8 z-bar setup on eBay? They guy already agreed to sell me the mounts for $25 if the whole setup didn't sell!
If you have where to store it and can use it, go for it. Otherwise, post the contact info and hopefully someone else will.
Buy it and salvage all the good parts then scrap the rest. Spare parts are nice to have. You could always sell them to other maverick guys later if you need some cash. Good luck!!!!!!!!
Just the parts for a V-8 conversion and the parts for a manual tranny conversion will make the bulk of your money back. Then you still have the engine and trim. You might also check if it has disc brakes... just another conversion parts package that you can use or sell. Offer less, but get it. Dave
