I am not an expert, but the Ford Racing Boss 302 block (which states it is intended for M-6049-X306//X307/C3/D3/Z304DA cylinder heads) recommends M-6051-S331 or M-6051-CP331 head gaskets. I could be totally off here, just trying to help.
Thanks Thats farther then I got on the phone with FORD all morning Ill let you know What I find out here shortly Im on hold right now makes you more of a expert then there parts dept guys thats for sure felt like I was speaking greek to them
Now if you were asking for parts for a new Mustang, they would be all over that because that is what they know. My bet is you were talking to guys that weren't even alive when the original BOSS was produced I had my stroker Cleveland built by a speed shop that has been in business since the very early 70's and it was great to be part of discussions, as the engine was going through the steps of being built, coming from first hand experience
Dealership parts Depts. in my experience are staffed by nerds. Engine Builder friend of mine bought a PT Cruiser brand new. He went on line to a certified Mopar site looked up the #s to new heads cam pistons water alcohol injection and the lot. He takes the part #s to the chrysler dealer here, gives them all the numbers, he wanted the dealer to build the motor to keep the warrentee. They had no clue so he babysat them through the build. Thing runs like crzy.
On the other hand, after "Tody" from Germany, gave me that engineering number for the Europeon Maverick emblems a while back, I went to my local Ford dealer and spoke to an old timer at the parts counter. He crossed the engineering part number over to a good USA orderable part number, checked stock for me in Detroit and ordered 1 of the emblems for me to be sure it was what I was looking for. He wasn't fazed at all by my story of what these emblems actually came on or the fact that they really weren't supposed to be sold in the US. It turned out that they were, in fact, the Euro Maverick emblems and I'm sure that many of the board members were involved in cleaning out Detroit's stock in record breaking time. You just have to find a parts counter "old timer"
Talked To ARP got head studs figured out and Roush Helped with Head Gaskets Ford Motorsports Helped with confusion but, transfered me a dozen times and got me what I needed. by the way Roush and FMS said with the Yates heads and my set up if it hooks hold on and look to the clouds.
