The guy that built the engine said I could run 91. And wouldn't it of pinged a long time ago. I knew this guy with a nova with a 350 with 11:1 comp it was his daily driver

my motor is 11.5-1. when i built it i was really worried about being able to run pump gas. i took it to a engine dyno to be tuned before i put it in the car. the tuner said that my heads dont flow well enough to allow the dynamic compression to be a problem.
so simply compression ratio doesnt mean you cant run pump gas. i suspect that you dont have an issue with the compression. pull those plugs out and you will be pointed towards the problem pretty quickly.

Just talked to the guy that built the engine. He said its flooded and flooding one side of the carb that's why the smoke out of one side . Ya he said pull the plugs crank it to clear the fuel. Replace the plugs if bad, change the oil. Looks like the new plugs the dyno shop put in a month ago are comin out yaaa

It was just flooding. It's back together and running like a champ. The one of the screens by the floats had some crap in it. It was the one opposite of the side that the smoke was comming out of the exhaust. So I'm thinking gas couldn't get threw there and was flooding the other side. Had to change the plugs and oil and now it's running great

So............can we assume you have a fuel filter before the carb...........and if not now would be a good time to buy a highflow replaceable one.........
and if you already have one............would be a good time to replace it will a smaller micro replaceable one...........................................maybe?(y)

Yes I have a hi flow replaceable. That just got replaced by the dyno shop. The stuff was orange so I think they had something to do with it. Like off a rag
