Just joined this site and have found a lot of usefull information already. I work on a lot of different projects, mostly motorcycles, but I think my first venture into a modded car was a 289 in a Pinto. Some of my favorite american street rides have been Fords, two of which were E100 vans. One with the 170 6 and another that I put a 289 HI-Po in with two four barrels. Nothing like the sound of a pair of four barrels sitting between you and your passenger .... I am planning on making this car a stock daily driver but I am so getting the urge to do something more extreme with it. I have seen a few different swaps mentioned and I have a 4.5 liter all aluminum dohc 300hp nissan v8 donor car sitting here, 4 speed auto overdrive, independent suspension, limited slip differential .... No, nevermind... Anyway, I have always liked the Maverick and Comets and around here it looks like all the two door ones are long gone. I haven't even seen a Maverick on the road in this area in years and except for the hot rods most of the ones sitting up have been four door cars. Anyway, I'm rambling, It's all good, EastTexas
I did a Early Vega V8, Cut the center out of the bumper, a little spoiler on the back and made it look like a mini Z28... Ummm the 454 was a mistake even after serious beefing to the chassis it was fast but you really weren't sure exacatly which direction the fast was going to go... Dropped in a really hot 283 and life was good... I built 3 V8 Datsun ZCars and my son put a small block chevy in an RX7. Everything was built for the street and always will be. It just gets harder, but it helps to have friends that run inspection stations (= EastTexas
If you are looking for a Maverick 2 door to build, I have several for sell. And I have tons of parts. I am in Forney, between Terrell and Dallas. Rick
