I just started to have a oil leak, so i parked the car and let it run, i thought it was the oil pan but the oil leaks and i seen smoke. Found out that the oil was leaking from where the trans bolt on to the engine, could that be a bad gasket seal?

Could be a valve cover gasket.

Mine leaks from there to its a 351. I don't see smoke. I was talkin to this guy about his 351 and he said he had to hook up up a vacume to his trans. Does anyone know about this

Pull the 2 bolts out of the inspection cover and look inside the bellhousing. You should be able to see if it's coming down the outside of the engine or from between the eng and trans. If it leaks from inside while idling, it's likely the rear main seal if you verified it is indeed oil. If it leaks after you accelerate, it's possibly the oil pan gasket. If it's just collecting make sure the top of the engine is dry. The back intake valley gasket will wet the top of the trans bell housing and run down behind it as well.

its a inline six 200, I do think it is the rear main seal. It drops while i idle.

If you see oil on the outside ( as you stated before ), it's the valve cover gasket! There is one bolt in the back that's a little hard to get to. You'll have to feel for it. You may try just snugging the bolts up. By " snugging " I mean with a ΒΌ" nutdriver or ratchet held by three fingers! Most problems with valve cover leaks are caused by tightening them too tight. It will bend the cover and crush the gasket! :)
