Does anyone know the name of that company that recovers dashpads? I used to know but just CANNOT remember now. My dashpad is fine but I am asking for a friend...

I had my Sprint dash done by Just Dashes. They are not cheap. The blue dash cost me $444 . Of that, $50 was to color match and $44 was for shipping. The quality is excellent however, the dash lines are not quite as sharp as the factory ones. I doubt the majority would ever notice.

No, the door panels were done by the same guy who stitched my seats.

I got a dash pad plastic molded cover for mine out of J.C. Whitney. Fits great and looks good.....the glue that comes with it smells realy bad. I think it only cost me about $80's or so.

    Mavaholic,

It's my understanding that you send your old dash to Just Dashes and then they restore it. How long was the turnaround time to get your dashpad back? Do you have any before and after pictures of your dashpad?

    Thanks,

Well, the place I was thinking of supposedly just heat-shrinks new vinyl material over your original dash for only $100 or so...and it was supposed to be a better material that's guaranteed to never crack again. But I can't remember the name of the company and cannot seem to locate them on the Internet...

I dont have any before pictures but it was a total mess. Cracked everywhere and missing chuncks. I have also seen those covers that glue over the top of your old dash. When properly done, they look great and are almost impossible to tell from the real thing.

I agree, thats hella cool. Do you have any pics from any other positions? How well can you see it from the driver seat? What all was involved.

The panels are angled towards the driver so they are very easy to see. Over 10 years ago I had the idea and told my friend about it because he used to make stainless steel restaraunt equipment. He said make him a drawing or mock up and he could probably do it. Since I was into radio controlled model airplanes at the time, I had lots of balsa wood. I made a mockup out of the stuff and handed it to him. About 3 days later he brought me this panel in stainless. I had him weld litttle arms to the inside that mount in all 4 corners to the backside of the dash. The rest was just cutting a hole. I always hated ash trays so i eliminated mine to get it closer to the driver.

WOW! It looks great!! I bet if someone could reproduce them you could sell them really easy! I like it because you keep your original guages and looks orignal. Some of the add on guages kind of stick out like a sore thumb.

What are the two switches for?

Thanks for the compliments. The switches controll the fuel pump and fan.
