So I've been looking for a 72 Grabber for a while and tommorrow I'm looking at one after work. We'll see what it looks like but it checks out from his description. I've had a soft spot for this car since I was in high school and we used to follow behind the school bus and pop wheelies in my buddies blue one. This one is red. I'll keep you posted and put up pics if the deal goes through. I don't know much about them so anything I should look for? Like VIN# I know about the hood and spoiler. What should I pay? Tell me anything even if you think I should already know because I probably don't. Thanks in advance.
Welcome from NorCal. Everybody knows that the 1972 Grabber is the best Maverick. When checking the VIN# make sure that the third and fourth digits are 93 so you know it is a true Grabber. If it is 91, then it is not a Grabber.
Welcome from Panama City, Florida......of course I believe you can't beat the original one, 1971 Grabber!!! don't forget to take some water and pour it in the cowl, you don't want a cowl leak.
Dont do too many wheelies with it as it is rough on the front end components and you might run into the school bus They are a great car and get lots of attention, many have leaky cowls if the floor is wet them most likely that is the issue but can be caused by bad rubber around the windshield, door hinges tend to be loose as the doors are large and heavy, power steering has a tendency to leak and have slop in it, brakes are weak if not taken care of, trunk area is a great place of concern as far as rust, heck it has the same issues as all the other cars out there of the 70s Good luck with your purchase
