Does anyone have any idea where I can obtain the shackle kit for my Maverick? I ordered the springs and shackle kit from JC Whitney back in July, but the shackle kit is still on backorder. I cannot get these items locally. JC Whitney says it may be December before they get any more, so they sent me my money back. I can't even get the spring bushings locally!! Any ideas?? Thanks- Preston

Thanks for the replies!! On the bushings......which is better, poly or OEM?? I don't have a clue as to the difference between the two. Thanks very much for the link Mr. Starnes. Preston

Poly is a harder material and can squeak alot even if you grease them. Plus you have to be careful when tightening stuff like the strut rods. Unless your road racing the car where everything needs to be extremely tight, I'd stick with the good old factory rubber. JMO

Mavs don't really have the suspension to be road racing anyways, so i think the Poly bushing would just set you back a few extra bucks and annoy the hell out of you with the squeaking :). I almost think someone put some poly bushings on the front of my car as the squeak like crazy.

Should be able to get it from any of the big Mustang suppliers ...

Mustang springs have a larger inside diameter in the spring eye.

Rather that going with Shackles and messing up your drive line angles why not use helper springs. They are good for 2-3" of spring lift and don't cost anything more than the shackles but are easier to install. I don't know where you would get them down there, JC should have them, I got mine in Canada from a company called Princess auto. www.Princessauto.com . Basicly they are a curved flat spring bar that clamps to the spring and has a nylon slide on the other end.

Yes, I just wanted to get a new set of original type shackles for peace of mind. I have replaced everything else, so why skimp on the shackles, you know? I really don't need anything to add height because I am going back with a set of 4 leaf springs. Thanks ya'll. Preston
