Want to put together a parts list for an EFI conversion and get some input from those who might be familiar with this. It needs to be something I can play around with a lot in the future. The engine now is gonna max out at 600hp or less. Future engine MUST make me 1000hp+ or I won't be happy :)

    mega squirt 2 computer/microsquirt $500.00
    fuel injectors 60lb x8, siemens $440.00
    fuel pressure regulator aeromotive $165.00
    throttle body acufab 90mm $289.00
    fuel lines and fittings $200.00
    fuel filters pre pump $90.00
    fuel filter post pump $90.00
    wiring harness doner mustang $100.00
    map sensor $0.00
    throttle postion sensor $30.00
    air temp sensor $20.00
    water temp sensor $20.00

For more of a basic TBI system the Megasquirt 2 controller will do very well.
But it seems like you want a sequential fuel injection system. And if thats the case you want the megasquirt 3 controller, its designed more for 8 cylinder engines and gives you all sorts of options like sequential firing of the injectors, coil on plug systems ect ect.

The biggest difference between the megasquirt 2 and the megasquirt 3 is the firing of the injectors, The megasquirt 2 fires the injectors on a bank, and it only has 4 banks. This means 2 injectors fire at the same time, which wastes fuel ect ect.
On the other hand the megasquirt 3 is a true sefi controller it will trigger each individual injector at your set interval giving you more power and allot more tuning abilities, especially if you are trying to go 1000+ hp. :thumbs2:

looks like we decided to go with ms3, it's about $550 for the assembled unit in a black box and another 80 for the harness.
Compared to bigstuff this is CHEAP.

is it pretty time consuming doing the EFI conversion? i don't even know how much time I will have to work on it this year but it's something I would really like to do.

Dont forget to figure in a high pressure fuel pump.

Awesome were you planning on going with a speed density setup with a bank fire right now or are you going to to setup a crank/cam sensor and run a SEFI?

I have an A1000 sitting on the shelf, that should be ok for that engine. I have the fuel lines too. but that's about it

I think we are doing a mass flow.

we might start with a basic program someone else has tinkered with but we will be doing the tuning ourselves.

so there are some options for the accufab 90mm. There is a "race", "standard", "max" and "v-band".

The v band is mostly for boosted cars.. That way the tube won't pop off..

I think they offer race, max and V-band. The race is probably the simplest and I can always get other flanges to weld onto it later when I'm ready to upgrade to boost.
