Heya all! Moved from Southern California two months ago, selling my second Datsun Z-car in the process. Went looking for another car while I was up here in the northern part of the state and stumbled onto this great Maverick. One-owner from 1974 to 2007 and the second owner didn't do hardly anything with it since (except mess up a few things which I have to fix). Pretty happy with it, but man what a change from what I'm used to! I'll say this for the Maverick... the parts are a lot cheaper and easier to get and replace! Looking forward to keeping this thing running for many years to come and maybe even turn it into a family project. For now, it's my daily driver. Nice to meet you all!
Welcome from NorCal. I also moved from Southern California to Northern California. Where in NorCal are you located?
Dang Nomake, your car is identical to mine! I have changed the hubcaps, but that's about it. Mine has the 200 I6 in it, what about yours? By the way, our car color is Ford Lime Yellow. CommieHook
Welcome to the board. Looks like a very clean car. Ironically, there is a 74 Comet 4 door that I got some parts from that looks a lot like Commiehook's and your cars. 64K miles, garage-kept, and scrapped anyway. The color code (on the door tag) reads 4W9D and the trim code is HG. PM me if you need anything ... I may be able to get back to it. Here is the parts ad link .... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=84064
Thanks for the color code! Mine has the 250 I6. Runs really well and I was really impressed it maintained cruising speed over the Grapevine but has an oil leak that's probably valve guides. Thinking of driving it around as-is and saving up for a 302 swap rather than do the head work to fix the leak. Unless someone knows a place that'll do work on one of these I6s for cheap? @CaptainComet: Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! @Everyone: Thank you for the welcomes!
