Not so sweet price though. One of the nicest GTS I have ever seen. Check it out http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2494167025&category=5367
Nice car, but is it worth 10 grand??? I mean, it's clean but WOW!! Must be the Mustang valve covers that add the value......right?? Preston
I haven't seen yours in person but just the color combo and the condition make it worth more than $8K in my opinion ... I don't see a By it Now of $10K unreasonable ... just hopeful ... If somebody were to buy a Comet GT beater they would easily have over 10K in the car to get it into that condition. Most people get a false notion that in the long run it is cheaper to buy the beater and restore it than it is to buy a turnkey car. Unless you have your own shop, all the equipment and can do body and upholstery work yourself it never turns out that way.
Oh, the memories. I had one in high school. It was the same color and interior except mine had no A/C & had a 3spd on the floor. I loved that car. At the time It was in great shape and I bought the car for $150 from a kid who won it in a raffle which was supposed to give away an escort but do to a low turnout gave away the Comet GT instead. He did some "engine work" on it and it would not run anymore. So he sold it to me. I towed it home and noticed he wired the distributor wrong. It ran great. Boy did he feel not so smart. Only difference was my hood scoop was blue not black like pictured on this car. Which is correct. Black or body color?
Thank you, I thought so. I definitely like the body color scoop better. The black looks aftermarketish (I made a new word!).
$3600.00 spent on paint and body? A few years ago? How much bondo would $3600.00 buy a few years ago?
I eliminated the rear panel gas filler (and trunk lock) on mine all together. Going for that clean stealth look.
