    That's a member on here. I beleive it's an automatic on the column.

    Yes it is my car, it is the second column shift Comet GT that I have come across the other one had bench seat. I imagine there were not near as many with column shift

    Thanks for the info. This is a picture of that GT with the auto column shift right? The Marti report confirms it is a true GT too. Very cool and unique.

    My Green '72 Comet GT is a 302 / C4 / Column Shift car, and the Red GT has a column shift in it now, but the only one I know 100% sure is from the factory is the Green GT since it's a barn find original right down to the faded green paint.

    You can see the shifter right above the steering wheel spoke.

    The Red GT looks to have a patch on the trans tunnel. :huh: ​

    Short of a scraping session, David is the only one that would know what's under there as he is the one that undercoated it before I purchased the car. ​

    Yep, that's a picture of it and the Marti report did confirm it as a GT. I bought it off of the second owner. The first owner used it on Long Island to drive from her home to the train station every day for work. Had a lot of rust in it. - Matt

    Thanks guys, awesome info. I wonder if this was only a 71 and 72 thing. Anyone ever seen a 73 or later GT with a column shift?

    I owned a 71 Comet Gt with a Column shift about 6 years ago was an all original Car.
