I took my favorite girl (wife of 22 years) out tonight in the '73 Maverick. I took her to Sonic and, boy, did it bring back memories. In 1974, when I was 16, I could've very well had been in '73 Maverick. We had a Shoneys back then that had drive up eating like the Sonic. That was the place where we used to idle down our hot rods and let the cams "lope" us over the speed bumps. Yeah, I was 16 again....until we stopped at the store on the way home to get milk. I don't ever remember doing that on a date when I was 16. BTW, I couldn't have dated my wife in '74; she was only 10. It was great time tonight. I'm looking forward to more of those times. :bananaman :bananaman :bananaman :bananaman :bananaman

That is great Terry. I have long said every time I get behind the wheel of my Stallion I am 18 all over again. Its a great feeling and when you have someone to share it with makes for all the better.

Nope. Only the AM portion works on the stereo I took out of the '76. The '71 has an AM/FM that works only on AM and the one out of the '74 doe not work at all.:slap:

An Autozone was next door to the Sonic. The wife and I went in there and bought a 50 watt AM/FM/Cassette. We'll have tunes next week.

The night wasn't complete unless you made a stop by "make-out point" on the way home ;).

:slap: I knew I was forgetting something. Boy, 16 was a long time ago. :slap:

However, we did have to get the milk home and in the refrigerator. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it. :smash:

Sure Frank ! I`ll sum it up just like I did Terry`s story...

Then: She helped push the car about 300 feet to the gas station.

Now: She would say I`ll be sitting right here when you get back with the gas!

Oh by the way when I said "Then" on my running out of gas " post I meant

1984 ! Same car I have now...Oh ,I decided to keep the girl in that story also !

Also would like to add that she laughed when I showed her this thread and said
"I would too help you push your car if it was out of gas!"

So I guess she still loves me huh?:bananaman
