I will be changing the front bumper on a 73 and I need the help of my fellow forum members.
Does someone have a small bumper fender, and is willing to cut out a stencil for the bumper notch on a piece of cardboard and mail it to me.
I am thinking that if one got a piece of cardboard, cut it to duplicate the edge where the notch is and cut the notch as well, I could be able to transpose it on my fenders and minimize the chances of making the wrong cuts.
If someone is willing to help me I would pay por postage.
    THanks in advance,
    Julio

when you get it drawn out it will look like this on my '73...:Handshake

note: when cutting it out, cut the notch 3/4" shorter than the finnished opening...fold that back for the tab.

Thanks, and hopefully someone will offer measurements so I do not mess this up.

has anyone "tightened up" small bumpers pull the in so the gap is better between the bump and body?

You could just notch the stone guard instead of the fender.

Thanks Craig, I though about this, but then I think that it would not be "stock looking" and the stone guard would be weakened and possibly rub on the fenders.

You can put some rubber edging on the stone guard to keep it from rubbing.

As far as "stock looking".....unless somebody got up real close to the car and looked, one would not be able to tell. The ones I have seen done looked great. Just another option.

We notched the stone guard on Clay's maverick, it looked factory.
On mine, I used the big bumper plastic stone guard, cut it with a razor knife to fit.
