Hello all. This might sound strange but I have a 1978 Vette pace car and am considering a 73 grabber. I cant fit a car seat in a vette. So, Maverick experts...some advice please. All original 73 grabber, floor auto, 302, 35k miles, white with avacado bottom, super soft top, high buckets, ac, aluminum oem wheels, ect... would this be a good buy? I haven't seen another with this color combo...rare? If its a "yes", what would be a good price to pay? Thanks in advance!

Got any pics? Can you give us an accurate description of the car? The mileage is great but that doesn't mean it's in great condition.

Ray is right, we definitely need to see pics and more description of the vehicle. If it is on Craigslist or something like that then just post the link. Do they already have an asking price?

The car was on craigslist for a few months but not renewed. He still has the cars but the link is not more. I plan on looking at the car in person but from the pics that were online, the car looks really clean, straight and rust free. Claims the car was in a garage in CA for years... Also claims interior is mint with the only damage being seatbelt plastic guards (not sure if he means the guards at the bottom or top). He had it listed for 7k but it didnt sell. Not sure if he is motivated or not either. Wish I had the pics to share...it has a white body, avocado bottom with stripe across the hood, super soft avocado roof and interior...

Thanks for all your help gang!

Sorry for the poor quality...a picture of a print out...
62D code, 9A paint code, LG trim code, C4 auto with floor shift, etc... I cant tell from the picture is the decals are cracked, chipped, or similar. The pictures make the car look super clean...even the engine bay is really clean.

Thanks again for your advice...I dont want to overpay but this car looks pretty cool!

How common is white with avocado paint?

Yep....we need to see pictures and a rundown of condition as far as rust, etc. How much are they asking for it?

If the car is REALLY clean and nice....I would say it could be worth $7000. I would not be able to say for sure whether the white and green is RARE (Only a Marti report could tell for sure), but I would say it is not a very common color combo.

What makes that car rare in my opinion are the options: 302 V-8, Factory AC, Factory floor shift, bucket seats.

 Mavericks aren’t easy to get in and out of the back seat (Four door excluded) I think a baby car seat would be an even a bigger pain. Mavericks are a pain, plain and simple get a Mustang that’s what I would do if I could do it over.

Looks like you're gonna have to go look at the Grabber, in person. That's the only way, you will know for sure. Where is the car currently located? Is it still in California ?

Yeah...if we are strickly discussing baby/car seats...none of them fit very well in any old car. When these cars were new....nobody gave a thought to baby/car seats. Today's cars are designed for them.

I agree with Craig. It looks like a nice car. If it is solid then I think its worth it. I don't know if that color combo is rare or not. I do remember seeing them back in the day. Even if its not rare there can't be to many left now especially in original form. The back seat is a issue with any two car but the kids grow fast. That Maverick has the right options on it. Not to many like that around. I remember a lot of green Maverick Grabbers with white stripes, '73 and '74.
