dont believe so...they were apparently very popular at one time as they were aftermarket...i took mine out because someone clearly didn't use a level or anything it looked sideways.
They were never a factory option. In the 80's it was a big thing to have a sunroof put in your car, I had one installed in my 79 Capri.
Never a factory option on a Maverick. As Dave also stated...very popular aftermarket option back int he 80's. As a side note....RARE seems to be the word of the day on Craig's List ads. Just using the word ads $1000 to the market value of ANYTHING!!
My first car was a '77 Celica that had a sunroof somebody must have installed in the 80's. Did anybody ever have one that was installed straight or didn't leak? Doubtful!
Yep, had a nice one in an '86 S20 Blazer Sport short bed pickup. Had it and a Tonneau cover installed in Binghamton, NY. Met a guy online here a year or so ago that probably installed it. My son had that truck after me. No problems till the day it was junked.
Mine never leaked, it was awesome!! You could remove the glass, and someone could stick out the roof while blaring Aerosmith, while crusing the strip at the beach. Ahhh the 80's.....
Met a guy online here a year or so ago that probably installed it. Yep, those were the days. I installed hundreds and maybe even a thousand or so in the few years that they were the thing to have. Most of them were Dot-Matrix pop outs which is probably what Dave is talking about. The trick I used to locate them was using string from the front top corners of windshield to a measured out location of opposite sides in the back creating an X on roof to locate the center then go forward or back from there to size frame to roof locating the center of sun roof over the center of the seat cushion when seat is mid way of adjustment. A new drill bit was a must with every job as to have no need to apply to much pressure, roof panels have no support. Never had a leaker but the trick is to cut the panel without creatinging any waves in the panel so the sun roof seats itself completely when you install the interior clamping ring. The ones that I hated to do was the after market T-Tops. They never fit but they were not specific to one model car, one set fit several makes and models and yes I got the honors, headache of installing a set in a 76 Comet.
I've seen a bunch of sunroofs on mavericks over the years here in socal. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=49609 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=43091
