Now that I've got the Mav's major replacements to keep the engine running, its definitely still not in driving condition. Took it out on the road a few days ago, and it just wanted to try and stall going into gear and accelerating. So we changed the spark plugs/wires (I know, should've done that in the beginning...). Well now it isnt really trying to stall, but I just backed it up and moved it forward in the driveway a few times and its clunking/lunging every time I change it forward/reverse. Its also moving itself forward in drive, like it could take itself back to the parking spot as soon as I let off the brake, never even touched the gas pedal.

I'm naturally assuming its transmission. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try to look at before I just assume the trans is just totally bad, or am I probably looking at a full replacement on that?

From what you have described, it sounds as if it is idled really high. It lunging forward and feeling like it would take off, if you let go of the brake, isn't characteristics of the transmission. It sounds as if the choke is holding the idle up high.
How did the transmission shift when you took it out for a drive? :tiphat:

when the car is in gear and you take your foot off the brake it will start to move with out giving it any gas. your idle rpm as stated may be too high. this will exaggerate that effect. it really sounds like tuning issues not bad parts. you need to dial in your timing and carb idle speed and mixture now.

Is it a Automatic? Check the transmission fluid.

Okay that all seems more reasonable. I guess the way this has been so far I automatically am assuming the worst. :coco: Yes, it is an automatic, so no shifting on the road but putting it in drive/reverse it was really trying to stall before the spark plugs got changed. It also has all new trans fluid in it that I've been watching closely and I dont see any leaks. I'll do the rest of the tuning and let you guys know how that goes.
    Thanks once again!
