I bought a steering column from a 69 Mustang that doesn't use a column key switch or have a column shifter mounted in it - perfect application for my 69.5 with a 4 speed. The turn signal switch is all boogered up and will need to be replaced. I searched the net and noticed a common part number being used no matter who manufactured the new switch - kind of like bearings. The number is SM35F and some venders list what other Ford cars this part fits. A couple of venders list an "early" 70 Maverick as being compatable. Has anyone seen this part number connected to a Maverick?

I bought a switch for my 69.5 from a company in Cincinnati, Ohio named Green Sales Company. It was $85.00. Part number is C8OZ13341A. Shipping was $5.53 for a total of $98.53. Looks just like the one in your pics!

I was thinking of posting in our "parts wanted" section for a good used turn signal switch if I knew for sure that this part number fit a Maverick. The price of a new one is just a bit outside of my buget right now and I want to get to work on this Mustang column :yup:

I have some used turn signals. Not sure if I have that exact part number. But....I hate to sell them because I don't know if they work or not. The last one I sold, I installed it for the guy to make sure it worked before he paid me for it. Will you be able to test it right away once you install it?

I have a 69.5 column. I can check if the siginal is intact.

Let me know if that will help.

What is boogered up? If the turn signal cam is broken that can be replaced. I plan on doing that with the one i removed from my 69.5 column so i have a backup. I believe there is an article in the tech section on how to do it!

The column is in great shape but the switch wiring came all stretched and chewed up. I'm not big on a bunch of butt splices to repair it so I figured a replacement was in order

I do like the aftermarket IDITIT column but now you're playing with some real money. The 69 Mustang column only cost me 49.00 and I need to cut the bottom anyway to adapt to the steering rack so I went that route

Yes this switch is in the maverick, I have been down the wonderfully fabulous turn signal switch road :banghead:. you will find it in the 69 and 70 model mavericks only. Could be a different switch in late 70 models but it will be pretty obvious, though i have heard the switch in the 71-72 (SM44F) models will work the same you should research that one some more before useing one of those.

    Thank you very much :thumbs2:

A funny thing happened today. My original 69.5 turn signal switch, that I put away 6 years ago in a place where I would never never lose it (ya-right), actually wound up being right where I left it after all :bananamanIt turned out that it is exactly the same switch as the switch I pulled out of the 69 Stang column and I really don't see anything wrong with it. The only difference is the Mustang harness coming out of the switch is much longer.

I can use it, saving myself a bunch of money buying a new one right now. Usually I'm the one that buys something new first and then finds a better solution:cry:

First photo: 69 Mustang switch on the left- - -69.5 Maverick switch on the right - Cleaned them up with a can of Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner (won't hurt plastic like Brake Clean will)

Second Photo: 69 Mustang column - no key switch and no shifter or indicator - should work for a floor shifted, key under dash 69.5 Maverick :yahoo:

Congrats on finding that switch! It's always a good thing to save money.

Actually I found it by accident so I don't get that much credit for good planning

I should be good for now Rick - hopefully :)

    Thanks
