Ok have a problem with the new maverick (wow that’s an oxymoron)

The emergency flashers don’t work nor do the turn signals.

I’m like ok, its the fuse or flasher. Well I replaced the flasher and switched out all the fuses.

    Still don’t work. :slap:

I check all the bulbs and they are fine.

Any other ideas on what it might be? Wiring? I hope not.

    First possible problem......the car doesn't run!! :D :D

Second solution............I bet it is the turn signal switch.

    Craig,
Glad you helped Derrick with his problem. Now help me.

My column seems to be sticking. The wheel does not want
to spin back to center on it's on when turning and there is
an occasional squeak. Where do I lube this thing? It might
have something to do with sandblasting sand?

    Thanks,

    Seth

    no signals

Before you pull the column apart there is 2 flashers on your car. 1 is for the 4 ways and 1 is for the signals. the 1 for the 4ways is easy to get to. the 1 for the signals is a real bear. its fastened to the bracket in behind the speedo and sits there in a little square hole. I could not get my hands up there to lift the flasher up out of the square hole. eventually hade to use a wood chisel to cut off the square piece that sit in the squre hole and then was able to get ahold of the flasher with 2 fingers and pull it down enough to get it apart. then left it beside the flasher 4 the 4 ways. it took 2 hrs to change the signal flasher the first time but I realized it was the original flasher from 1972 as they dont make flashers anymore thaat clip into a spring loaded hole. What a job but everythindg works now. hope this might help.:)

Not sure why your column might be sticking......could be a number of things. I wouldn't think it would be anything "inside" the car.

With the flashers and signals not working. Make sure the lights in the taillight housing are all pushed in and ground good. By this I mean the light fixtures where they go into the taillight housings. They use the housings as grounds. Twist them around real good and make sure they are gound and locked in tight. If they are not grounding out against the housing then nothing works.

    Seth,
Did you put on a new idler arm with stiffer material than rubber? If so, that is most likely your problem. Lots of Mustang ones say right in the ad that the steering wheel won't "return" when you install one of those...

    Corbin,
The idler arm has not been replaced. I checked it before installing
the engine and it passed the test. It didn't seem to be worn out.
Everything else was replaced with Poly-graphite.

Ok, well then it's probably what Earl was talking about.

BTW, be careful if the strut rod bushings were replaced with polygraphite, it's too harsh for those components, and can cause the rods to snap, usually while driving! I would say replace those with rubber if they're poly...

is it also possiable that 75 only have one?
