What year did the Maverick go to the "white" more brittle type cluster that I've been hearing about? I hava a 74 does that have one of the later types? Thanks...

My 77's do and I parted out a 75' and it had the white cluster. I would think the 74 would as well but someone else should know.

All 3 white clusters I've removed haven't really been brittle. None crumbled in my hand or showed any signs of cracking. Maybe I'm just lucky :)

The sun just destroys them, me and the OP both live in brutal sunshine states.

Mine fell apart in my hand. Replaced it with one of the early ones, it was perfect :)

Yea, one 77 was Tenn car, other Ohio, and the 75 was Kentucky car.

I can see anyting out west crumbling quickly if not garage kept or with tinting of some kind

I believe 1974 may have had either one...the green one (less brittle) or the white one (really brittle).

Well I have 2 & they are both the white ones, actually there in good shape. I was just curious about both clusters that I heard about. So apparently Ford changed vendors or something when they went to the cheaper plastic white one vs the early stronger green one-or just Ford getting cheaper plastic back then, cutting corners...
