I would like to see what you other 4 door owners have done with your Maverick or Comets. Would like to start on teh fixing up of mine. That is if I could get my wife to STOP driving it to work!!! We got a second car to give the Comet a brake. She loves the car. Will not stop driving it!!:slap:

I fixed the pic. It's little bit bigger.
Todd I would have posted a pic of your Dads 4 door but all I had was front shots.

Here's a pic of mine (not very good) from back last winter. It's currently undergoing some updating... I have better pics somewhere but I can't find em.

I just bought a 76 4-door today, just couldn't pass it up for the price I was able to get it for, $425. Came with a 302, power disc brakes in front, automatic, and bucket seats, never knew 4-doors came with buckets. I was surprised at how strong it runs, it's going to be a huge improvement to drop the engine and tranny into my 2 door. After that and a few other parts being taken off, she'll be taking a 1-way trip to the steel recycler.

    74 Comet 4 door
Thanks guys. I am really hoping to get started on my Comet by next month. I talked to my friend that is the head painter at a custom cycle shop. He said to me tonight that they will be installing, this week. A state of the art, paint booth. Car size. He said that he can go down there and use it on the weekend any time. So all I have to do is do the body prep, and it is off to get squirted.
Russ, I love the look of your car with those old school Indy 5 slots with BFGs. I was thinking of going modern styling with big wheels, but I hate that look. I guess I am still stuck in the 70s. Those wheels are a pain to locate though. To think, I had so many of them pass through my hands. It really makes the car look cool.
These pics are really helpful, and now I am really ready to get going on it. When the car was given to me 2 years ago. I loved it, but I just did not look at the car as a something I would fix up. I figured that it was a 4 door and who thinks a 4 door is worth doing anything too. Over the couple of years. I cannot believe how many people have stopped us and asked about the car. Some wanting to buy it.
I will take some pics of it in the next day or two, and post them here. That way you can see how it starts out. Then I hope to have it finished by the end of winter, for some spring time cruising. I would love to get on a part of the Hot Rod Power Tour. Been wanting to do the for years.
